Treating acid reflux can sometimes seem like such a daunting task. If you experience heartburn on regular occasions and it seems like you've tried everything, but you still can't seem to get rid of it, then go ahead and try some of these natural home remedies. They will provide you with some quick acid reflux relief and help end the pain.
But first, here's a quick description of what acid reflux is and how it happens. Every single person has a lower esophageal sphincter, or (LES). This is the part of the body that regulates the passage from stomach to esophagus.
If the LES is weak, relaxed, or not working correctly, it cannot adequately stop the contents of the stomach from coming back up and into the throat. Luckily, treating acid reflux doesn't require any expensive medication or drugs. You can stop the heartburn by using the natural home remedies.
1. Apple cider vinegar is the best. Mix 2 tablespoons into a large glass of water. You will see the effects in about 5 minutes.
2. Eat a small piece of celery before and after each or your meals. Just plain celery though, don't put any thing extra on it.
3. Baking soda is also good. Mix 1 teaspoon with water and try to chug the whole thing at once since baking soda doesn't taste that great. Burp a couple times to experience the best relief.
4. If you like the flavor, try drinking pickle juice.
5. You can also drink organic, whole leaf aloe vera juice (the dietary supplement, not aloe vera from the plant you put on your skin). Usually 1/2 ounce to 1 ounce several times per day is best for treating acid reflux.
Keep in mind though that these are natural home remedies and they are intended to be used as quick relief. They will not work if you are looking for a permanent cure. As soon as you stop doing the remedies, your heartburn will come back, so you need to make sure you're doing these every day.
